We thank all who sought the Lord on our behalf as we really felt the prayers and the direction from the Lord. This trip was tougher in some ways than before and yet there was incredibly peace surrounding us.This was more evident when things went in unexpected directions or contrary to the direction we anticipated. We thank you for lifting us up, several times we were immediately buoyed up when the attacks of discouragement and doubt settled on us.

Again we cannot thank you enough !!

Heading home in the morning

We finished up late today and were able to get to a computer. The trip has been exhaustive but very good. We met today in Mumias, a very strong muslim area. Among the membership they have 40 members that have converted from the muslim religion. This was one of our best meetings.

We had a good meeting in Bungoma yesterday, and were blessed by our trip down to Masai Mara. We saw over a million animals as the wildebeasts were there. What strange animals!!! We stayed at Mara West in tents amongst them. They have a website, we wre in the economy tents. This was hard to sleep the first night, the wildebeasts sound like cows and they eat all night.

Back from Uganda and Heading to Masai Mara

We have had an easier day today as we have finished quite a press. The meeting and first rest day were packed with story after story. Each church different and wonderful in their own way. The day we rested, Monday, was really tough, we visited two widows, with fresh graves in their front yards, and prayed with them and three other families in the area. This was tough and so sad, the graves at the home sites was not encouraged by the church, but the women had to submit to their husbands clansmen and do as they insisted.

The meetings have been very good with an increasing intensity of the Lord's presence, until we reached Uganda on Friday. This was a very hard, yet a beautiful place, with good (descent) roads and new animals, big lizards (with red head and tails and blue body) and baboons. The visits were on Saturday near the Mt Elgon , near the Kenyan border and on Friday southward near Lake Victoria. These were the two pastors that came on bicycles (two day ride) to meet with Al and attend the final meeting in Bungoma in 2004.

Yesterdays meeting in Busia-Teso district was the best yet. There was just a lot of joy in the Lord in that service, and the Lord was worshipped. There was a live chicken, eggs and pineapples given during the offering. The service was close to four hours !! But was to be enjoyed not endured.

Tomorrow we take off early for Masai Land to meet with the overseer of the Masai district Joel Ombima, and Ambrose Mwita, the overseer from Tanzania and the services in Lolgorian.

Service 1, Kitale, 6 September 2009

Went the two hours up to Kitale, over 6000 ft elevation. Met with Pastor Fred Simiyu and the other pastors in the region. The meeting was the second of the day for them, they hold three services in the basement of a rented building. It was packed, we testified as to why, we are here. The call by Larry and Al were explained and then reason for the trip. Obediance. This was a good meeting the Lord blessed, this was attended by Bushebi, Vincent and Violet Wekesa, and us. Worship was blessed by the Lord. This church has at least tripled since 2004.

Arrival !!

We arrived ! Getting here is quite a process, and we made it to Bungoma at 11:30 am yesterday. Everyone here sends your love. We have been so warmly received. Today we are resting for tomorrow's service in Kitale. We thank you for your prayers as we have been buoyed up several times by them already. Pray that we maintain His perspective as we go forward.
